LikeMindedObjects is the creative studio of artist designer Elise McMahon. Designed and produced in Hudson, NY, LMO primarily creates furniture, accessories and custom interiors with a focus on a contemporary joyful aesthetic combined with materials experiments in resourceful design, looking to local materials and technologies that respect communities and environments by utilizing primarily recycled content, keeping materials out of landfill. McMahon’s depth of knowledge around craft and history came from training in the Bauhaus method of design at both Rhode Island School of Design for her BFA & Parsons School of Design for her MFA, in a lifelong goal to seamlessly combine art and industry in an effort to improve daily life of both individuals who live with her work and the individuals who help to produce it. Her work in Art, Design, Research and Education has resulted in international projects and diverse press coverage.

Our Latest Launch - The LMO ROLL COLLECTION

The LikeMindedObjects ROLL COLLECTION is made up of a contemporary lounge chair and daybed elegantly combining the aesthetic of architectural shapes and structural joinery with comfort in the soft rolling forms of this unique upholstery method, utilizing shredded recycled textiles to fill the channel tufted denim. Also made of other healthy recycled materials like compressed paper, these pieces marry high end aesthetics and function with sustainable Waste First materials sourcing. Launched May 18th with virtual contemporary design fair Sight Unseen Offsite Online in partnership with Dezeen and sales partner 1stDibs the roll collections visual and structural language will no doubt expand and morph into more upholstered LMO pieces into the future.
